These are the words of FW de Klerk, the “last white president” of South Africa who inflicted the racist Black Nationalist African National Congress government on an otherwise decent country. Has it truly taken him a quarter century since negotiating with the same ANC to come to this conclusion?

In a statement to attendees during the launch of the Centre for Unity in Diversity, FW finally managed to state the obvious, namely that

We have to face the unpalatable fact that our present government has adopted policies that are consciously directed toward harming the core interests of a section of the South African population according to their race.

Which part exactly of this statement about the ANC as an organization was NOT obvious for many decades? December 16, 1971, was the 10th anniversary of the creation of Umkhonto we Sizwe, the military wing of the African National Congress (ANC) created by Nelson Mandela. On that day, the leader of the ANC, Oliver Tambo, made it vividly clear to white South Africans what his view was of their destiny. He called on his countrymen to “mobilize their black power” and to “arm themselves with the memory” of Moshesh, Sekhukhune, Hintsa, Maqoma in order to “liberate” themselves from “alien bondage.” Then he made the key statement [link]

The white enemy in South Africa can and must be defeated.

That political party still proudly displayed this communication on its promotional website after the first decade of the 21st century. It appears to have removed it after this author directed attention to it. Clearly the organization viewed white South Africans as “enemies” and as “aliens.” It was rather obvious that there could be no place for white South Africans in their own country if it were run by such an organization. After all, the official anthem of the military wing of the organization, Umkhonto we Sizwe, contained the fateful line:

We have pledged to kill the whites (bulala amaBhulu)

All this may be read in detail in AmaBhulu [Link].

Since the ANC came to power more than 24 years ago, far more than 3,000 white farmers have been murdered, the economy wrecked, one tenth of whites driven into squatter camps, the treasury raided, the international financial standing trashed, the institutions of the country turned into a joke – mere toys for the animist president with his base African tribal concept of what used to be an advanced country. And still the daily political attacks on whites do not cease, because this caricature of a leader knows full well that the majority of black South African voters are garden variety racists who will never vote for a competent white person. Hence, it suits him to turn whites into scapegoats for anything short of Globlal Warming, and he is likely to try even that. He is ably assisted by the Western Media in this effort since they have proven incapable of writing a balanced article about the country without referring to apartheid from a quarter century ago. Of course, pointing at South Africa also deflects attention from their own past glass house. Then again, what is a liberal without a guilty conscience?

The best that any reasonable person can hope for, is that de Klerk will take his Nobel Peace Prize back to Norway, hand it back in public to King Harald V, and announce that the Peace effort in South Africa has formally failed and that, unless the West takes a hand in matters, he wants refugee status for his people in Europe and North America.
